Privacy policy

Short version: what you paste into a tool stays on your computer.

Last updated:

What you put into the tools

Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. Text you paste and files you open are processed on your own device and are never sent to our server or anyone else.

YouTube Thumbnail Downloader: this tool works out the video ID in your browser, then your browser loads the thumbnail images directly from YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com). That means YouTube receives the request for those images, just as it does when you see a thumbnail on any website, under Google's privacy policy. Nothing goes through our server, and we never see or store the link or the images.

Some tools offer a Share link option. A share link puts the content inside the link itself (after the #), so it is still not stored on our server. Anyone you send the link to can read that content, so only share links with people you trust.

What is saved on your device

To remember your choices, the site saves a few small settings in your browser's local storage, such as your theme (light or dark), your cookie choice, and tool options like indent size. Some tools may also keep your last input so it is still there when you come back. This stays on your device. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and tools are used, so we know what to improve.

  • If you are in Europe or the UK, we ask first: Google Analytics only runs after you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Decline, or don't choose, it is not loaded.
  • Everywhere else, Google Analytics runs by default. You can turn it off at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

When it runs, Google Analytics collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the website that sent you, your approximate location (country or city), and your device and browser type. It sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_<id>, which last up to two years and let it recognise repeat visits. Text you paste and files you open in the tools are never sent to Google Analytics.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Declining stops Google Analytics and removes its cookies from your browser. We never use Google Analytics data for advertising.

Advertising

The site does not show ads. If that changes, this page will be updated before it happens.

Server logs

Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type and the page visited. These logs are used only to keep the site secure and working, and are kept for a limited time by the hosting provider.
